Tyršova veřejná plovárna

Tyršova veřejná plovárna

Vysoké Mýto

Tyršova veřejná plovárna is located in the town of Vysoké Mýto, in the Ústí nad Orlicí district. This popular summer attraction, surrounded by trees, is situated on the northwestern edge of the town. The water is drawn from a private borehole at a depth of 230 m and has a temperature of approximately 18°C. It contains a number of mineral and metallic elements, which causes sediment at the bottom, discolouration of the water, and a mild hydrogen sulphide odour in the middle of the pool, where the pool is filled via an inlet fountain. The water is regularly tested and is safe for health.

The water surface of the swimming pool is unique due to its dimensions and divided into three sections: a children’s paddling pool (depth up to 60 cm), a section for non-swimmers (depth 60–130 cm), and a section for swimmers (depth 130–160 cm). In addition, there is a swimming pool (50 x 12 m) which reaches a depth of 3 m under the diving tower. Half of the main water area has a sandy bottom. Fun and perhaps a bit of adrenaline can be enjoyed on a 96-metre-long toboggan, and a family slide for three people will also provide enjoyment.

Sports can also be played on land; there are two beach volleyball courts, a foot tennis court, two ping-pong tables, a pétanque court, 18-hole minigolf, a small football pitch, and popular Russian skittles. A playground with a carousel, sandpit, swing, trampoline, and climbing frame is available for children. There is sufficient grassy area here, not only for laying out blankets but also for ball games. Refreshments are served depending on the weather at two or three different locations; there is a restaurant, a pool bar, and a buffet. Alternatively, visitors may use the fire pit for barbecuing.

The swimming pool was established in 1933, with the town and the local TJ Sokol organisation participating in the project financially. Since 1996, the Technické služby města Vysoké Mýto have been taking care of the facility. Over the years, the town has carried out a number of structural modifications; a toboggan and a slide have been added, the main heritage building has been repaired, a lifeguard station and toilets have been built, and various sports facilities have been installed, while emphasis continues to be placed on maintaining the original character of the swimming pool.

Are you thinking about how to fill your free time in Vysoké Mýto after swimming? The pride of the town is the Litomyšlská brána. Boys, both young and old, will particularly enjoy a visit to the Muzeum českého karosářství, which is one of the exhibitions of the Regionální muzeum. If you are looking for activities for children, visit the Harta garden with its water ponds and small menagerie. You can take a pleasant walk to the Stánina vyhlídka in the shape of a gate, from where there is a view not only of the town and its surroundings but, in good conditions, even of the Orlické hory.

If you wish to get to know Vysoké Mýto better, find accommodation for your summer holiday near Tyršova veřejná plovárna. The range is varied; you will find a smaller hotel as well as cosy guesthouses. You will also have a choice of well-equipped apartments, and, of course, private accommodation is also available. In the surrounding villages, such as Bučina or Tisová, you will also find cottages where you will have complete privacy. Thanks to its "age" and location, Tyršova veřejná plovárna is unique. Experience its atmosphere at least once yourself!

Koupaliště Litomyšl

Koupaliště Litomyšl

Litomyšl

Koupaliště Litomyšl is among the sought-after destinations for hot summer days. It is located in the Pardubický kraj (Pardubice Region) in eastern Bohemia. The local swimming pool was already under construction in 1938, but the subsequent war interrupted the work. The grand opening did not take place until August 1948. Only the pool was in operation then, and completion took another three years. The appearance of the First Republic-style changing rooms has been preserved to this day. A major reconstruction of the swimming facility took place in 1995. And what can visitors look forward to here?

The truly spacious complex meets all aesthetic and hygienic criteria. A car park is also available near the swimming pool. Right at the entrance, history breathes upon visitors thanks to the preserved building of the original dressing rooms. Afterwards, visitors step onto a large grassy area where a blanket can be laid down. Plenty of benches can also be found around the pool for those who dislike sitting on the ground. The second relaxation area consists of a mature park full of sprawling trees. Ample shade can be found beneath them throughout the day. The water in the pool is heated by solar panels to a temperature of 21 °C to 25 °C.

And now let us look at the refreshment that awaits visitors. The main feature is the swimming pool with dimensions of 50 x 30 m and a depth ranging from 0.2 m to 3.5 m. It includes two diving boards at a height of 1 m and 3 m. Visitors can slide into the pool via a 10 m long slide. The second is a 25 x 10 m pool with a depth ranging from 1.2 to 1.6 m. The final pool serves as the run-out for the water slide. Visitors can ride down a 92 m twisting water slide. Along the main pool is a narrow strip of shallow pool, which serves as a children's paddling pool. The total water area of the swimming facility covers 1,800 m². This means that every visitor will find their place for water fun.

In addition to relaxation and sunbathing on the grassy area, further space is available. Right by the pool is an area with wooden sunbathing decks. If passive sunbathing on a blanket becomes tiresome, there is no need to despair. A beach volleyball court and table tennis facilities can also be found at the swimming pool. A children's playground with various types of climbing frames is also included. A restaurant and fast food stand are naturally part of the complex.

The local swimming facility is truly a pleasant place. It even received a four-out-of-five-star rating in the swimming pool category. The Městský bazén Litomyšl is adjacent to the swimming pool. If heading to this historic town in the Svitavy district, visitors are recommended to visit other places as well. In addition to a stroll through the arcade-lined square, a stop at Zámek Litomyšl is also encouraged. It is even inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list. The Smetanova Litomyšl music festival is held annually in the chateau grounds. The renowned composer was born in this town. Among other things, he is commemorated by the Rodný byt Bedřicha Smetany (Birthplace of Bedřich Smetana). It can be found near the chateau.

The Českomoravské pomezí (Bohemian-Moravian Borderland) is a region that deserves the attention of its visitors. Explore the surrounding monuments and nature as well. For example, Zámek Nové Hrady or the sandstone rock city in the Přírodní rezervace Maštale (Maštale Nature Reserve) can be recommended. Accommodation near Koupaliště Litomyšl can be booked directly through us. Visitors can choose from cottages, chalets, apartments, or guest houses. We believe that visitors will enjoy their holiday in the local region.

Retropark Sejfy - Lesní plovárna

Mladé Buky

Retropark Sejfy – this forest swimming pool can be found near the village of Mladé Buky, about 1 km to the north. It is one of the few swimming pools in the Krkonoše mountains. The most important feature of the swimming pool is a 50-metre-long pool with a gradually sloping bottom. At the same time, there is space here for various sports activities and relaxation. Visitors may enjoy a pleasant environment thanks to the natural character of the swimming pool. Summer camps or school trips are regularly organised here.

In addition to the pool, the complex includes grass and clay courts, an area for beach volleyball, a softball batting tee, two ping-pong tables, and an inflatable climbing wall. Equipment and gear for all offered sports are available for rent. For children, there is not only a paddling pool but also a children's playground and a sandpit. Sun loungers and benches are available by the pool, or visitors may spread out on the sunny hillside, which also offers shaded spots. Changing rooms and showers (cold water is free, warm water is available via a coin-operated machine) are an essential part of the swimming pool. Should you be arriving by car, please note that parking is free. It is also possible to arrive by bike, as racks are prepared.

Visitors to the swimming pool will certainly appreciate the refreshment options. The complex includes a restaurant with a capacity for 80 guests, with dozens of additional seats on the summer terrace and under the pergola. The staff is happy to organise family celebrations or company gatherings. In addition to food and views of nature, the restaurant also offers a children's corner and darts or board games.

The swimming pool was established as early as the 1930s, when Josef Siegel from Mladé Buky built a concrete pool, which was fed by a stream from the Rýchory mountains. This natural swimming pool also featured a stylish log-cabin pub. Since the first season, which began on 24 July 1932, the swimming pool became a very popular destination for vacationers; on period postcards, it is possible to see the pool and adjacent grassy slopes full of people. After World War II, a Sokol district youth settlement with log cabins and a tent camp grew here. After February 1948, it was transformed into a pioneer settlement. Depending on who owned the swimming pool at the time, it alternately experienced better and worse times, until it was eventually closed. The swimming pool was reopened on 21 July 2002 after an expensive reconstruction of not only the pool but also the buildings and the complex. The year 2006 also brought a new multifunctional building, Rotunda. In 2009, the camping part of the complex was reconstructed.

And if you have had enough of swimming and would like to experience something else? You may walk along the Dolní Sejfy – Zlatá cesta educational trail. Or you may drive to Svoboda nad Úpou, where you can visit the Farmapark Muchomůrka, where your children will be entertained.
