Depending on who owned the swimming pool at the time, it alternately experienced better and worse times, until it was eventually closed. The swimming pool was reopened on 21 July 2002 after an expensive reconstruction of not only the pool but also the buildings and the complex. The year 2006 also brought a new multifunctional building, Rotunda. In 2009, the camping part of the complex was reconstructed.

Lesní hrádek Aichelburg is a romantic neo-Gothic structure that towers high above the Úpa River on the wooded slope of Světlá hora, near the village of Temný Důl in the Krkonoše Mountains. Ski areál Svoboda nad Úpou is located directly in the town of Svoboda nad Úpou, which lies on the main E67 road between Trutnov and Pec pod Sněžkou. The highest mountain in the Czech Republic is Sněžka, which rises to an altitude of 1,603 metres above sea level. It is located in the Krkonoše mountains, and the state border with Poland runs across its summit. Visitors may comfortably reach the top via a modern cable car, which departs from Pec pod Sněžkou or from the intermediate station at Růžová hora.

Apart from the cable car station, there are other structures on the summit of Sněžka. Examples include the Polská bouda mountain hut, which houses a meteorological station, or the Kaple sv. This fully functional post office ensures the dispatch of postcards and provides other postal services. It also includes a refreshment stall and an observation deck, which offers a magnificent panoramic view of the vast surroundings. At the same time, it is the highest situated building in the country.

In addition to the aforementioned cable car, it is possible to reach Sněžka via several different hiking trails. Scaling the highest mountain is a very popular challenge, and it is therefore one of the most visited attractions in the Krkonoše mountains. The most frequently used route leads from Pec pod Sněžkou. Here, one still has the choice of whether to attempt the ascent on foot or to make use of the aforementioned cable car. The least demanding ascent can be started in Malá Úpa. The roughly 4-kilometre-long Cesta česko-polského přátelství (Czech-Polish Friendship Trail) will lead visitors along the red tourist marker over Obří hřeben to the summit. Conversely, the most challenging but visually most rewarding route starts again in Pec pod Sněžkou and leads through Obří důl and Obří sedlo. Originally, until 1605, only a smaller wooden fountain stood here, which was subsequently replaced by a new one. A dragon made of white sandstone stood out on it, and for this reason, it was called the Dračí studna (Dragon Well). In 1892, it was replaced by the Krakonošova kašna.

The author of the design was a professor at the Trutnov secondary technical school, J. Kirschner. The fountain consists of a granite basin and a sandstone core. And, of course, there is also a metal sculpture of the mountain guardian, Krakonoš. Interestingly, a tin box containing documentary information about this structure was placed in the central part of the well.

The original statue of Krakonoš was manufactured at the A. Castner art foundry in Berlin. However, as it was already considerably damaged by age and weather conditions over time, it was replaced in 2001 by a bronze replica from the workshop of J. Janeček from Vamberk. Since 2015, Krakonoš has been joined by four dwarf companions, so-called gnomes. Their creator is the Trutnov native P. Skavová.

The Krakonošova studna (Krakonoš Well) is a wonderful place for relaxation. Visitors are invited to stop here during their wanderings through Trutnov and soak up the atmosphere. The surrounding picturesque historical houses and their arcades will also provide shelter in case of wind or rain.

It was likely founded in the second half of the 13th century, probably during the reign of Přemysl Otakar II. In the 14th century, it was among the royal estates that temporarily fell into the hands of local nobles, such as the Dubá family. During the Hussite Wars, it was occupied by the Hussites, but it was later reclaimed by the Lords of Dubá. In 1447, the castle was purchased by Silesian cities, which had it demolished, and it has not been restored since. It left behind only fragments of foundations, masonry, and rock relics.

For this reason, a sluice gate was installed above the waterfall, which can increase its flow at the request of visitors. But beware, it is not quite that simple. Visitors must know the magic spell, or rather shout the secret password Krakonoš.

However, visitors certainly will not set out to this place just for the Malý Adršpašský vodopád. It is strongly recommended to walk through the entire Adršpach rock town and admire the diverse sandstone formations that received their names from objects, people, or animals they resemble. Thus, visitors can see, for example, Milenec, Starosta a starostová, Krakonošova lenoška, and Sloní náměstí. When you turn from the green trail onto the yellow one, which is more demandig. You will reach the picturesque Adršpašské jezírko. On the way there, you will also pass stairs that were constructed as early as 1843. You cannot swim in this lake either, but during the summer season, you can enjoy it not only from the shore but also from a boat with witty commentary.
