The lake covers an area of 309 ha, making it the second-largest lake in the Czech Republic. Its width reaches 1.9 km, its length 3 km, and its depth reaches up to 71 m in some places. The filling of the pit, which remained here after mining activities, began on 24 October 2008. A feeder was created to the lake, through which water flowed in from the Ohře river. The filling process took place until September 2014, with a break between 2012 and 2013, when the reaction of the surrounding area was monitored. Even after it was filled, the water surface was only in trial operation. It was opened to the public on 12 September 2020, following the modification of the banks and the construction of access roads. The entire area that underwent revitalisation represents 1,300 ha.

At present, the lake contains clear and very clean water. Terraced pebble beaches lead to the water surface, and you will also find piers here that allow easier access to the water. On the shore, you will find a beach volleyball court, a large children's playground, and ping-pong tables. Italian builders completed it in almost record time, in a single year. A few years later, railings were added to the surrounding rock viewpoints. Shortly after the restaurant was built, an entrance fee to the area began to be charged. Since Pravčická brána became a tourist attraction, it has demonstrably been visited by millions of people, including famous personalities. The famous writer Hans Christian Andersen visited here not once, but twice, in 1831 and 1851, drawing inspiration for his work.

Until 1980, visitors had the opportunity to climb to the very top of the arch. However, access was prohibited because the presence of people on the rock arch caused accelerated erosion. As a result, this section narrowed by almost a metre, which led to the ban so that the monument would remain for future generations. Even though it is not possible to enjoy the view from the rock bridge itself, the vistas are certainly worth it. Three viewpoints offer beautiful views not only of the arch itself but also of the České Švýcarsko and Saské Švýcarsko regions. They can be reached via maintained trails and staircases that lead directly from the entrance to the area. Termální koupaliště Brná is a unique summer swimming pool in Northern Bohemia on the outskirts of Ústí nad Labem, in the centre of the entire Ústecký kraj region. Until recently, it was possible to reach the Brná swimming pool by boat, as it is built on the Labe river in the Porta Bohemica valley. Furthermore, the pools here are filled with water from thermal springs with a temperature of 30 °C, making swimming very pleasant from late spring to early autumn.

The history of the Termální koupaliště Brná dates back to 1930, when the first source of thermal water was drilled. Just a year later, a thermal swimming pool was built on this site, and six years later, bathtub baths were established here. Further boreholes were excavated for the needs of the swimming pool in 1968 and 2003. Today, the thermal springs are used only for bathing, although in the past, the water was also bottled for drinking cures.

When visiting the Termální koupaliště Brná, visitors have a choice of several pools. From Chřibská, follow the marked forest path that will lead you through the valley to the waterfall. After your visit, you may continue up the wooden stairs to the junction above the valley. From there, you can return the way you came or continue towards Plešivec or the Chřibská railway station.
