Following the fall of the Iron Curtain in 1950, access for the world's automotive elite to Czechoslovakia was closed. However, that very same year, the Masarykův okruh found a substitute in the form of road motorcycle racing, which remains a staple to this day. Paradoxically, it was precisely after another shortening of the track in 1964 that it entered the calendar of the Road Racing World Championship.
