Vodní nádrž Rozkoš, completed in 1969 on the stream of the same name, ranks as the eighth largest reservoir in the Czech Republic. It spans an area of 800 hectares, situated near the town of Česká Skalice. The average depth of the Rozkoš reservoir is 10 metres. It is sometimes referred to as the "East Bohemian Sea", as it serves as one of the points of interest in Eastern Bohemia, located in the very heart of the Kladské pomezí region.

Its primary function is flood protection, and it also serves to support the flow of the Úpa river, which flows into the Labe. The reservoir is utilised for recreation, water sports, and fishing. Visitors may arrive by car and park at the car park located directly at the reservoir. Naturally, it is also possible to travel in a slightly more adventurous manner by train or bus. For athletes, the Vodní nádrž Rozkoš is accessible on foot or by bicycle.

The sturdy wooden structure conceals a spiral steel staircase comprising a total of 44 steps, which leads visitors to two viewing platforms at heights of approximately 4.5 and 9 metres. Once visitors stand at the top, they will be rewarded with a magnificent panorama encompassing not only the Adršpašsko-teplické skály themselves, but also, in good visibility, the ridges of the Krkonoše, the Orlické hory, the Jestřebí hory and the Javoří hory, the Polish Soví hory, the Broumovské stěny, the Stolové hory, and picturesque Ostaš. It is a place where the landscape unfolds beneath visitors as if on the palm of a hand.

Who the trip to Čáp is intended for

A green tourist trail leads to the summit from Teplice nad Metují or from the Skály settlement, while cycling makes it possible to ride up to a distance of roughly three hundred metres from the lookout tower. However, it must be taken into account that the route represents a moderately demanding hike along a firm, occasionally stony path with an ascent. Due to safety and the demanding terrain, bringing dogs to the lookout tower is not particularly suitable.

You can enjoy skiing without stress or long waits. The resort offers three ski lifts tailored to all skill levels. From a large 400-meter lift with a 100-meter vertical drop for more experienced riders, to a medium 170-meter option for beginners and children, and finally a small 100-meter lift dedicated exclusively to the little ones. Perfect slope conditions are maintained through regular grooming with a snowcat, and technical snowmaking is used whenever necessary. If you would like to enjoy skiing under the stars, the resort is illuminated for night skiing three times a week. Complete facilities are a matter of course, where you will find a ski bar, ski and snowboard rental, a ski school, and a free parking lot with a capacity of 60 to 70 cars.

Our approximately 500-metre-long slope offers ideal conditions for every skier. At the halfway point, the slope branches into two routes of varying difficulty, ranging from gentle sections to intermediate variants. To ensure a perfect experience even during lower frost levels, we groom the slope daily with a snowcat and, if necessary, use artificial snowmaking. Directly on-site, you can take advantage of the ski school, equipment rental, or refreshments, which will make the start of your winter day more pleasant. Thanks to low attendance and sufficient lift capacity, you will avoid long queues here and enjoy a comfortable ride without unnecessary waiting. The technical facilities are complemented by a modern contactless ticketing system, and a lift is also prepared for our youngest skiers.

A great advantage is the water maintained by sand filtration, i.e., without the presence of chlorine, which is particularly appreciated by visitors with sensitive skin. For adrenaline lovers, there is a diving tower with two levels (1.5 m) and a diving board (3 m). The complex also offers a wealth of activities for children, such as carousels or swings, and a sports zone with table tennis, Russian skittles, football tennis, and volleyball. Complete facilities are a matter of course, including the rental of sports equipment, parasols, and sun loungers, changing cabins, and a buffet with a wide selection of drinks, desserts, and ice creams.
