Adršpach

Mountaineering museum by the rocks, where history meets adventure

In the village of Dolní Adršpach, at the foot of the Adršpašsko-teplické skály rock formation, stands a Renaissance château that owes its origin to the conversion of a fortress at the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries. In 1886, the Nádherný family modified the château into the form we know today, and after 2013, when it was purchased by the municipality, it was opened to the public. Today, it houses a unique mountaineering museum, a flax processing exhibition, an escape game inspired by the fairy tale Třetí princ, and a cosy café with a children's corner – an ideal combination of history, culture, and family entertainment.

What you will discover here

The château offers a diverse range of experiences that connect history with local traditions and nature. Visitors can look forward to an interactive exhibition mapping life at the château, the unique mountaineering history of the sandstone towers, or the forgotten regional traditions of flax production. For lovers of adventure, there is an exciting escape game inspired by the fairy tale Třetí princ, which draws guests directly into the story. A magical fairy-tale room full of imagination is open for the youngest visitors, while parents can recharge their energy in the château café, which features a children's corner and offers light refreshments.

Who is the château ideal for

The château is an ideal destination for families with children looking for meaningful entertainment that combines history with the natural attractions of the region. Fans of mountaineering and admirers of traditional crafts will also find much to enjoy. For visitors with limited mobility, barrier-free access is provided to most of the interiors, although it should be noted that there may be steps in some areas. Due to the protection of the exhibits, dogs are not permitted inside the building.

How to get here and what else to expect

The château is located about 1 km from the car park in Dolní Adršpach, which is easily accessible by car or bicycle. Marked trails from the surrounding rocks also lead here. In the vicinity, it is possible to combine a visit to the château with a tour of the rock town, so the experience can flow seamlessly. Whether visitors are seeking only culture, or wish to supplement it with a dose of nature.

A château where the story of the ice turned into an adventure

Zámek Adršpach is not just a museum. It is a place where the history of the château, regional craftsmanship, and the stories of the rocks safely intertwine. Every step takes visitors from the Renaissance period, through climbing, to family entertainment, all in the environment of the pristine Broumovsko region.
