Ski areál Dolní Morava

Ski areál Dolní Morava

Dolní Morava

The Ski areál Dolní Morava can be found at an altitude of 650 to 1,200 metres in the Králický Sněžník mountain range. Dolní Morava is located in the Ústí nad Orlicí district, 6 km from the town of Králíky. The municipality lies on the border of the Pardubice and Olomouc regions, as well as on the border between the Czech Republic and Poland.

In the winter season, the resort is a popular ski centre, as it is one of the best-equipped resorts in the Czech Republic. In the Dolní Morava resort, visitors can enjoy eight ski slopes designed for all categories of skiers. The longest track is the Spojovací lyžařská cesta with a length of 2,500 m. As some routes connect to each other, it is possible to descend 3 km in one go on up to five of the tracks. Visitors are transported to the slopes by two quad chairlifts, two anchor lifts, and one Poma lift. The smallest vertical drop is found at the Dětský skipark Amálka (70 m); among the slopes for adults, the gentlest is Ondráš (vertical drop of 110 m). Conversely, the steepest descent can be experienced on the red-black Sněžník A track, where one descends 369 m over a length of 1,200 m. Evening skiing is available on the 600-metre-long Kamila slope, which is among the most popular slopes thanks to its width and comfortable gradient.

In addition to classic slopes, so-called snow trails await visitors; the Fun trail is an entertaining track featuring banked turns and two tunnels, the Cross trail is a cross-track for all resort visitors that meets all European parameters, and the Jump trail is a track with obstacles and jumps. It is not only for advanced skiers, as beginners and families with children can try it as well. For the little ones, there is the Baby skipark and the Dětský skipark Amálka, where they can learn their first turns on skis or fine-tune their technique with the help of instructors. If downhill skiing is not the right choice, cross-country skiing can be attempted, with several tens of kilometres of tracks available. A ski school, as well as equipment rental and a ski service, are standard amenities in the resort. Evening sledging and bobsleighing on a lit track are also popular activities.

The resort is also active in the summer, with plenty of experiences prepared for visitors. The most famous attraction is the Stezka v oblacích, which is open year-round. For those desiring a bit of adrenaline, the Mamutí horská dráha (3 km long) is in operation all year round, on which one can zip along at speeds of up to 50 km/h. Visitors can also enjoy the Adrenalin park with a rope park, a zip line, or a climbing wall. For cyclists, a Trail park with four tracks of varying lengths and difficulties is prepared. Mountain hiking is also a matter of course. One may hike, for example, to Králický Sněžník, and along the way, see the well-known statue of a baby elephant. Below the summit, visitors may also stop at the source of the Morava river. The surrounding peaks can be viewed from the Klepý lookout tower.

Finding accommodation at the Ski areál Dolní Morava is a piece of cake. Visitors will find hotels offering premium services, guesthouses with a family atmosphere, and apartments where guests will feel at home, with the difference that they are located right by the slope. If travelling as a larger group or requiring complete privacy, cottages and chalets are designed exactly for such visitors. The selection is truly diverse, both in terms of accommodation options and in attractions and activities. You will fall in love with Dolní Morava!
