Vodní svět Sareza

Vodní svět Sareza

Ostrava

The regional capital of Ostrava also has its own water world. It can be found in the former building of the municipal baths. The operation of Vodní svět Sareza commenced on 17 July 2009, following a comprehensive reconstruction of the indoor sports centre. Among other things, this venue also offers saunas, a gym, and water slides. Visitors regularly head here, not only from the Moravskoslezský kraj .

Visitors may enjoy water fun in a 25-metre pool with 6 swimming lanes. The pool is divided into a section for non-swimmers and a section for swimmers. A diving board is located above the swimmers' section. Thanks to barrier-free access and a special JOB wheelchair, swimming is also accessible to disabled visitors. Immediately next to the pool, there is a children's paddling pool with a water mushroom.

Adrenaline enthusiasts will certainly appreciate the 100-metre-long water slide, which is complemented by interesting lighting effects. During the ride, visitors will experience complete darkness, flashing sections of the slide, and a passage through an underwater world. It is, of course, intended not only for children, but adults will also enjoy plenty of fun here. Another interesting experience is offered by Vodní svět Sareza through its water cave. It consists of various nooks and water attractions, such as a hydromassage area for 6 persons or an area with air loungers and geysers. Thanks to ubiquitous cameras, a lifeguard oversees safety here as well.

The local wellness centre will also be a true relaxation paradise. Several types of saunas are prepared – Finnish, steam, and Celtic. A relaxation room, a Kneipp path, and therapeutic baths are also part of the wellness centre at Vodní svět Sareza. Iodine-bromine or peat treatments assist in the treatment of joints, the spine, and blood vessels.

If you wish to work out a little before water relaxation, visit the local fitness centre. Top-class equipment for cardio training, stretching, or strength training will help you improve your physical fitness. Afterwards, you can reward yourself with a protein drink at the bar or purchase nutritional supplements or functional clothing. Those who wish to prepare responsibly for the summer and prevent the first rays of the sun from burning them red will certainly appreciate the two types of solariums.

Aquabistro, located on the first floor, serves for refreshments. It offers a breakfast menu, ice lollies, a wide range of coffees and cocktails, and, outside the summer season, tasty soups are prepared as well. At Aquabistro, it is possible to watch sports broadcasts or use the WiFi connection. A small corner for children is also part of the bistro. As you are on a higher floor, you have Vodní svět Sareza at your fingertips. You can observe the indoor area and, during the summer, also the exterior, where the outdoor swimming pool is located.

The outdoor area includes a swimming pool, a relaxation pool, a slide, and a children's section, where a slide with a gargoyle, a toadstool-shaped shower, and a water-spraying rhinoceros are located. A nearby grassy area offers plenty of space for sunbathing and relaxation. You can also keep an eye on children running off to play in the sandpit or on the wooden castle, which are also part of the outdoor area of Vodní svět Sareza.

Fun is definitely guaranteed here for the whole day. However, if you would like to use Vodní svět Sareza only as a stop for rest after an actively spent day, we have several tips for interesting attractions in Ostrava for you. For families with children, the biggest attraction is certainly ZOO Ostrava, which belongs to the largest zoological gardens in the Česká republika. A visit to the bituminous deep mine Hlubina will certainly be interesting for you as well. And you will also delight your little ones in the entertainment centres Jojo park or Funpark Žirafa.

Accommodation near Vodní svět Sareza is provided by comfortable guesthouses, apartments, and hotels. If you travel a little further, picturesque cottages and chalets or more affordable campsites are at your disposal. If you appreciate information about the surroundings provided by so-called long-term residents, private accommodation will be the right choice for you. You can, however, find plenty of interesting and practical information in information centres or on the internet.

Aquacentrum Bohumín

Bohumín

The city of Bohumín offers its residents and visitors the extensive Sportovní centrum Bospor. Its facilities include an ice rink, a sports hall, a football stadium, a hobby park, and an aquacentre. Those visiting this corner of the Ostrava region will certainly find plenty of entertainment. The sporting and relaxation options in Bohumín make this place a popular destination for visitors throughout the entire Moravskoslezský kraj. Let us take a closer look at the Aquacentrum Bohumín. This water centre is available to visitors year-round and provides entertainment for both adults and children. Aquacentrum Bohumín offers fitness swimming, swimming courses for schools and kindergartens, as well as swimming for infants.

The centrepiece of Aquacentrum Bohumín is the swimming pool. It is 25 metres long with 5 swimming lanes and features the coolest water (28 ˚C) of all the pools, ensuring visitors do not get too warm during training. The relaxation pool, located right next to it, is equipped with massage jets for muscle relaxation, a water cannon, and a small waterfall. It is connected to an outdoor pool via a passageway.

A red, 48-metre-long waterslide winds like a snake above the interior area. For children, there is a paddling pool complete with water features. Perfect relaxation can be enjoyed in the whirlpool. Notably, a hot tub has also been available in the outdoor area since 2014. Furthermore, there is, of course, an outdoor pool, a children’s paddling pool, and a sufficient number of sun loungers or relaxation areas.

Within the Aquacentrum Bohumín complex, not only beach volleyball players but anyone interested in this summer sport may use the beach volleyball court. After a demanding sporting performance, visitors may quench their thirst at the water bar and relax their muscles in the sauna world. There is a choice of three dry saunas, two infrared saunas, and one steam sauna. Necessary sanitary facilities are an essential part of the centre.

As you can see, the city of Bohumín is a true sports centre. A great advantage is its strategic location near the Polish border. It is only a short distance to visit our northern neighbours, whether for sightseeing or shopping. The regional capital, Ostrava, is also nearby; it is long past being just a centre of mining and heavy industry, as one can also find ZOO Ostrava there, offering entertainment for the whole day. Alternatively, travel from Ostrava towards the northeast, where the largest prehistoric park in the Czech Republic, DinoPark Ostrava, awaits in the cadastral territory of the municipalities of Orlová and Doubrava.

There are truly many ways to spend pleasant time in Bohumín and its surroundings. The range of accommodation facilities is equally wide. Are you looking for accommodation near Aquacentrum Bohumín? Do you prefer cottages and cabins? Or do you favour hotels and guesthouses? There are many options, and you simply need to choose. Private accommodation is also popular. The most important information about a given area is often not found in guidebooks or on the internet, but local residents will be happy to share it with you. So, think, plan, and book. All that remains is to set off.

Vodní areál Jih

Vodní areál Jih

Ostrava

In addition to the Vodní svět Sareza, also known as Čapkárna, the regional capital of Ostrava offers another place where visitors can experience a wealth of water fun. This is the Vodní areál Jih. As the name suggests, it can be found in the southern part of the city, which is not only a significant university seat and home to the mining and extraction industry but also the cultural centre of the Moravskoslezský kraj region.

What awaits visitors here? The Vodní areál Jih offers a 50-metre swimming pool. It features 6 swimming lanes and a depth ranging from 140 to 180 cm. In the immediate vicinity, sun loungers are placed for sunbathing or relaxation. The relaxation pool, located nearby, is between 100 and 120 cm deep. It includes water and air massage benches, and just like by the swimming pool, sun loungers are placed around it, along with a spacious grassy area.

Adrenaline lovers are usually most drawn to slides and water slides. Visitors will find plenty of them here. One of them is the Kamikadze, and as the name implies, it is clear that overcoming it will require a good deal of courage. It is a 20-metre steep slide, and visitors will be in the splash pool in the blink of an eye. A longer experience can be enjoyed on the open water slides with a length of 86 metres, while the less daring will appreciate the two 16-metre slides.

For families with children, a children's pool and a paddling pool with various water features are prepared, such as a slide, a water cup, a wild river, a water cannon, etc. There is also a playground with a tartan surface featuring plenty of climbing frames, swings, and a climbing wall. Parents may make use of the benches to watch their children play or enjoy refreshments at one of the nearby snack stalls.

Professional staff and lifeguards oversee order and safety throughout the duration of your stay. If visitors wish to engage in sports outside the pools, two beach volleyball courts or two other courts for badminton, foot tennis, or volleyball are available. A local restaurant is also at your disposal without restriction. Do not be mistaken; swimming will certainly build up your appetite.

What other interesting places can be visited in Ostrava? We definitely recommend the ZOO Ostrava, which is the second-largest zoological garden in the Czech Republic, housing around 400 species of animals. Another major attraction for children is the DinoPark Ostrava, although it is not located directly in the city, but in the village of Doubrava, about 15 kilometres away. For those who wish to learn more about the local history of mining, accessible mines are prepared Důl Hlubina or Důl Michal.

Ostrava is long past being just the "black city." If you do not believe it, come and see for yourself. You may choose accommodation near the Vodní areál Jih as your base to be close to the swimming pool. Cosy hotels, guesthouses, and apartments are available. We also recommend cottages and chalets, campsites, or private accommodation, which are located more on the outskirts or in nearby villages. Now, all that is left is to plan everything you wish to see in Ostrava.
