Treat yourself to an experience-filled stay in a stylish tiny house-style cottage made of larch and pine in the town of Skalná, in the attractive West Bohemian (Western Czech Republic) region near the Ore Mountains. This modern property offers space for relaxation and exploration in the immediate vicinity of Vildštejn Castle.

ABOUT THE COTTAGE:
Cottage „U Čapího hnízda“ (Cottage by the Stork’s Nest) is an ideal choice for 1 to 5 guests all year round. The interior of this newly built house has been designed with an emphasis on coziness and clean lines, where natural materials play the main role. The living area is dominated by a wood-burning stove, creating a warm and intimate atmosphere especially during cooler evenings. You will find a comfortable sofa, television, radio, as well as WiFi internet and a work desk for any urgent tasks.
A fully equipped kitchenette with a ceramic hob, microwave, refrigerator, and kettle allows you to prepare your favourite meals. The sleeping area is located upstairs, where a double bed and a bunk bed are prepared for your comfort. In the living area, there is a sofa where another person can sleep comfortably. The cottage also includes a modern bathroom with a shower and toilet.

GARDEN:
Your stay is enhanced by a private terrace with seating and a barbecue, perfect for enjoying the surrounding nature and a morning coffee in the fresh air. The complex, which also includes Pension Pod Komínem, features a spacious garden with a covered swimming pool where you can cool off during summer days. You can also enjoy leisure activities such as Russian skittles or table tennis. For children, there is a beautiful rope park just a few steps from the cottage. If you fancy traditional homestyle cooking, there is a restaurant with an outdoor terrace and winter garden directly on site.

SURROUNDINGS:
The area around Skalná is rich in historical monuments and natural attractions. Just a few steps away you will find Vildštejn Castle and the ruins of Starý rybník. Definitely worth visiting are the SOOS National Nature Reserve, Seeberg Castle, and the historic centre of Cheb with its unique medieval merchant houses called Špalíček. For spa relaxation, Aquaforum in Františkovy Lázně is just a few minutes away by car. You can enjoy scenic views from the Bismarck lookout tower or the Cibulka observation tower. The proximity to the German border offers additional opportunities for exploration, hiking, winter sports, and shopping. The nearest ski resort, Aš, is 13 km away.

SWIMMING POOL:
• The pool is open from 8:00 to 22:00 and operates in July and August (otherwise depending on
weather conditions).
• Note: there is no barrier-free access to the pool.

DINING:
• The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen for self-catering.
• On-site restaurant Pod Komínem (Wed–Sun 8:00–22:00).
• Breakfast can be ordered at the restaurant or at Vildštejn Castle, 200 metres away (castle restaurant
open daily 8:00–22:00).
• Grocery shopping is available in three small shops in Skalná centre (350 m), Lidl supermarket in
Františkovy Lázně (6.5 km), or larger stores in Cheb (9.5 km).
• Groceries can also be conveniently ordered online via Košík.
