On the site where a castle stood in the 13th century (some references even mention the year 1260), there is now a Renaissance-style building housing the Muzeum Podkrkonoší v Trutnově. The castle underwent numerous reconstructions – it experienced a significant Renaissance renovation in the first half of the 16th century and was destroyed after the Thirty Years' War.
What the château offers
The château building combines a historical atmosphere with modern use. In its basement, there are preserved remains of the original castle premises, which are currently used as a restaurant and music club. The upper floors of the building are dedicated to the Muzeum Podkrkonoší, which engagingly presents the rich history of the entire region through modern exhibitions.

The entire facility is wheelchair accessible from the town centre. Due to the nature of the interior spaces, dogs are not permitted.
