Marina Lipno nad Vltavou
The largest water area in the Česká republika is the Lipno reservoir, nicknamed the Czech sea. Visitors can find it in the Jihočeský kraj (South Bohemian Region), with the majority of the reservoir also lying within the Chráněná krajinná oblast Šumava (Šumava Protected Landscape Area). Chemical toilet disposal points and the option to top up water tanks can be found at the technical station. Connection to 220 V electrical outlets is available directly on the floating piers. Access to individual piers is lockable, and a crane is provided for launching and hauling out boats. Vessels can also remain moored during the winter, and nighttime navigation using beacons as well as port lighting are provided. A Wi-Fi network is also available, and for convenience, toilets and showers are open 24 hours a day. Weather forecast announcements are provided by the harbour master's office. For those wishing to relax, the observation terrace with catering services is available to use. The operating hours of the port generally run from May to the end of October, and wheelchair-accessible entry is ensured.
The port is connected to an 11.5 km long cycling and inline skating trail. A system of five interconnected cycling routes has also been established. Aside from swimming, Lipno Lake is a popular location for numerous water sports. Canoeing and catamarans are the most common activities, while windsurfing, yachting, paddleboarding, and kiteboarding are also popular. Many competitions have been held here, and the area below the reservoir outflow provides suitable conditions for slalom canoeing and rafting. Both the World Canoe Slalom Championships and the World Rafting Championships have been hosted here.
